The National Retail Federation of the US rolled out new access rules for household storage goods, updating safety and environmental test standards for popular multi-layer rolling trolleys and study storage carts. All imported metal trolleys must pass low-VOC surface coating tests with strict limits on heavy metal precipitation, making powder coating and food-grade anti-rust coating compulsory.
Walmart, Target and other chain retailers removed low-cost plastic trolleys failing new standards and increased procurement of metal trolleys. Foldable lightweight trolleys with drawers and side hooks enjoy a 22% price premium. Inquiries for 304 stainless steel trolleys from Chinese manufacturers grew 56% month-on-month.
