New EU Environmental Regulations Take Effect, Raising Global Export Compliance Standards
June 10, 2026
The EU has officially implemented updated environmental and safety regulations for home storage products in June, setting stricter market access thresholds. Full compliance with FSC forest certification and REACH SVHC testing has become mandatory for exported products. The new standards cover all storage product categories, including metal frames, wood and bamboo structures, plastic connectors and surface coatings, with strict limits on heavy metal precipitation and harmful substances. Non-compliant products are prohibited from entering the European market. Cross-border platforms such as Amazon have improved the weight of environmental certification labels, limiting the exposure and traffic of uncertified products. Domestic leading manufacturers are actively upgrading production processes by adopting non-toxic materials, low-VOC coatings and recyclable packaging to complete relevant certifications in advance, effectively avoiding export risks and stabilizing overseas market share.
